PANIWO project launched

The project “New participation formats for the integrated design of product and work innovations by the ‘Community of Work’” (PANIWO) aims at making all employees innovation drivers of the company by means of participative concepts. To this end, 2 companies from different areas will work closely with the scientific partners from June 2019 over a period of 3 years. At the University of Rostock, the chair for ABWL: Organizational and Personnel Psychology (Prof. Dr. Bernd Marcus) and the Junior Professorship of Business Information Systems (Prof. Dr. Michael Fellmann) are involved in the project. The project is funded by the federal budget as part of the “Future of Work” funding programme and by the EU from funds of the European Social Fund of the European Union (ESF) with a total of EUR 1.4 million, of which EUR 600 thousand is attributable to the University of Rostock.

The aim of PANIWO is to develop a transferable method and platform for the smart use of collective intelligence. PANIWO goes beyond previous approaches in that not only the products produced, but also the processes, workflows and working conditions become objects of participatively developed innovations. The focus is on the technical requirements as well as the entire company with all its employees. The project will be accompanied by field experiments and surveys conducted by organizational psychologists throughout the entire duration of the project.
