From March 3 to 6, Dr. Heiko Geue, Minister of Finance and Digitalization for the State of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, visited London and Paris with a delegation to learn about strategies for implementing digital sovereignty in the United Kingdom and France and the current state of AI use in the public sector. In addition to the minister, the delegation consisted of 11 other individuals, six of whom represented companies from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (primarily from the IT sector) and four of whom were from the ministry. The delegation also included Prof. Kurt Sandkuhl, who was invited as a representative of the academic community and spokesperson for AI MV. The program, which was prepared with the support of the German embassies in London and Paris, included visits in London to the UK government agency Government Digital Service (Department for Science, Innovation & Technology) and the London Tech Show, as well as visits in Paris to the Direction Interministérielle du Numérique (DINUM) and the Institut National de Recherche en Informatique et en Automatique (INRIA).
