It took quite some time to prepare the joint double degree program with The National Research University for IT, Mechanics and Optics (ITMO) in St. Petersburg, Russia, but now it is decided: from the winter term 2016/17, students in Rostock and St. Petersburg can study a Master’s program which results in two M.Sc. degrees, one in Rostock and one in St. Petersburg. The contract between the two universities was signed already in December 2015. In March 2016, the required changes in the study program regulations passed the academic senate of Rostock University and the board of the faculty for computer science and electrical engineering.
