Fraud Detection in Instant Payments: Feasibility study completed

In a study financed by van den Berg AG, a payment service provider from Herzogenrath (Germany), the Business Information Systems team investigated which fraud detection approaches exist (including approaches using artificial intelligence) and can be applied for instant payment transactions. On August 19, the project finished with a presentation of the results in Herzogenrath.

In addition to two prototypical implementations of fraud detection approaches, the core conclusion oft he project is a lack of real-world test data for research on fraud detection. Van den Berg and Rostock University agreed to intensify their search for cooperation partners in financial industries.
