The German-Latvian Business Day took place on 26 September 2025 at the HanseMesse Rostock. The event, which was attended by a Latvian business delegation led by Prime Minister Evika Siliņa, served to strengthen bilateral economic relations between Germany and Latvia and to open up new opportunities for cooperation. The event was opened by Manuela Schwesig, Minister-President of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, who emphasised the importance of cooperation between Latvia and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
The programme, which consisted of a keynote speech, discussion forums and a series of workshops, also included a presentation by Prof. Kurt Sandkuhl on the topic of ‘AI MV – Centre for Artificial Intelligence in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania’. The research group Business Information Systems has been cooperating with Riga Technical University for more than 20 years.
