Guest lecture in Kiel, 21.02.2020

On January 21, Prof. Michael Fellmann gave a guest lecture at the University of Kiel on the topic "(Don't) Repeat Yourself! Concepts and Tools for Desktop Activity Logging". Various current research projects in the field of semi-automatic recording and analysis of computer-based activities with machine learning methods were presented. The topic is important against the background of the flexibilisation of the working world, which places increasingly higher demands on the self-management of employees. In this context, the recording and analysis of computer-supported activities can be used as an instrument to create transparency regarding one's own working methods and thus support self-reflection. Furthermore, it can also be used for new types of assistance functions such as the suggestion of situationally relevant information objects. A more far-reaching perspective of the topic is the generation of work-related recommendations in order to support the daily work routine. In the lecture, use cases for the above-mentioned topics were presented, self-developed IT components for activity recording and instruments for data analysis. The slides can be viewed online and an audio recording of the lecture can be listened to at https://deich.pa.informatik.uni-kiel.de/vorlesungBlockchain/?page_id=347.
