Infrastructure for research of process-oriented architectures ready-to-operate

The major equipment is needed for the investigation of processes, services and solutions for the evolution and transformation of process-oriented enterprise architectures. Process orientation is seen in business and public administration as key to a rapid adaptability of the enterprise architecture to new business models, regulatory requirements or partnerships. The resulting demand for faster transformation of process knowledge in IT support is, even with modern service oriented architectures quickly restricted, if not only composition or configuration changes, but process innovation and transformation can be made. Primarily new forms and applications of model transformation, service transition and performance optimization are required, due to their complexity, place very high demands on computing power, main and mass storage infrastructure development, and can without the proposed major equipment not be developed and experimentally evaluated. The major equipment will support the existing research of the four participating departments (Software Engineering, Architecture of Application Systems, Theoretical computer science and Business information systems) directly and also enable new, joint research activities. The project also contributes through its focus on two of the four strategic areas of research at the University of Rostock, to the profile line "Knowledge - Culture - Transformation" and "Successful Aging".

Equipment:

• A total of 20 servers located in the server room of institute of computer science

• Networking at 56 Gbps InfiniBand and 10 Gbps and 1 Gbps Ethernet

• 4 x UP-Compute Server

      • 1 x Intel Xeon E5-1650, 3.20 GHz, 6 Cores ⇒ 12 Threads 64 GB RAM, 2 x 1 TB, 2 x 128 GB SSD

• 11 x DP-Compute Server

      • 2 x Intel E5-2680, 2.70 GHz, je 8 Cores ⇒ 32 Threads 128 GB RAM, 2 x 1 TB, 2 x 128 GB SSD

• 1 x QP-Compute Server

      • 4 x AMD Opteron 6284 SE 2.70 GHz, 16 Cores ⇒ 64 Threads 512 GB RAM, 2 x 1 TB, 2 x 128 GB SSD

      • The compute servers provide a total of 400 threads

• Storage Server for provisioning storage, eg Virtual machine backup and integration of other servers possible, to combine activities and increase efficiency
