Intelligent learning and teaching - October event of the Center for Artificial Intelligence in MV available on YouTube

The Center for Artificial Intelligence, with the support of the Digital Innovation Center, devoted its October event to the topic of "Intelligent Learning and Teaching.

Tobias Häfner, CEO of the company Copendia, offers e-learning for various target groups. He reported that for some years now, more and more smaller companies have also been making use of e-learning. This is made possible by, for example, making digital training reusable as well as easier to customize and thus more affordable for customers.

Prof. Alke Martens (University of Rostock) took a critical view on the inclusion of Artificial Intelligence in the field of learning and teaching, especially when it comes to an unreflective use of Machine Learning for the personalization of learning content. Furthermore, she reported on the latest developments in the field of intelligent tutoring systems.

Dr. Kristina Yordanova presented DigiCare, a project in which a chatbot-based system is being developed. With this system, students of health and nursing sciences can train how to deal with patients suffering from dementia. Even though this chatbot still sounds very much like the future, it nevertheless shows how forward-looking the use of hybrid AI methods is. This means that not only machine learning is used, but also prior human knowledge, e.g. in the form of rules and probabilities.

The recording of the event is now available on the YouTube channel of DIZ Rostock.
