Abstract:

The aim of this master thesis is to develop an automated evaluation of the Shape Constraint Language (SHACL) for ontologies. The thesis includes an introduction to theoretical foundations, a literature review and the development of metrics for evaluating SHACL rules in collaboration with an expert and user of SHACL. In addition, software is presented that performs automated evaluation based on these metrics. Although improvements in performance and runtime are needed for large ontologies, the quantitative metrics are correctly captured. The work divides the metrics into elementary metrics, which are then used by the software as a basis to compute other metrics from. The work contributes to the improvement of the automated evaluation of SHACL rules and provides suggestions for future research in this field.
