Michael Fellmann appointed as Juniorprofessor for Business Information Systems

On the first of April, 2015 Michael Fellmann has been appointed as Juniorprofessor for Business Information Systems with special focus on Enterprise Information Systems by the Faculty of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering of the University of Rostock. Previously, Mr. Fellmann worked as postdoc and project leader at the Institute for Information Management and Corporate Governance of Osnabrück University. He completed his PhD-studies on Semantic Process Engineering, specifically the design and implementation of a tool for semantic process modelling, in 2012. Before that, Mr. Fellmann worked as a scientific assistant at Osnabrück University (2009-2012) and at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) (2008-2009). He completed his studies with special focus on Information Science, Computer Science and Business Information Systems at the Saarland University in 2008. His research interests comprise Business Process Management, Semantic Technologies and Service Science. His research results have been published in over 80 scientific papers, amongst others in journals such as Business Information Systems and Decision Support Systems and have been presented at conferences such as ICIS, ECIS, CAiSE, HICSS, BIS and WI. Moreover, he leads the special interest group on “Semantic Technologies in Business Process Management” being part of the EMISA working group of the German Society for Computer Science (GI). He also organizes workshops in this context. Mr. Fellmann has been awarded with the Best Presentation Award of the MoBIS2010-conference in Dresden, with a Best Paper Nomination of the WI2009-conference held in Vienna as well as with the award for increasing the scientific reputation of Osnabrück awarded by Osnabrück University in 2012.
