Enterprise modeling using the 4EM method becomes even easier with version 2.7 of the modeling tool.
The collaboration launched in 2017 with the Open Models Initiative LABoratory (OMiLAB) to develop a 4EM Modeling Toolkit continues to bear fruit. After the introduction in 2025 of a feature in version 2.6 of the 4EM Toolkit for the automatic generation of 4EM General Models from related sub-models, the development of the new release focused not only on bug fixes and improved assistance but, above all, on the integration of a feature for sharing models. With the new feature, models can be exported and imported using a Share ID. To do this, the models are stored in a database and remain available for sharing via the Share ID for 7 days before being automatically deleted.
Furthermore, KPIs have been added as a class in the Goal Model and Concepts Model in the new version. The consistency checks have been updated and expanded so that empty intermodel relations (created intermodel relations without a target object) can now be identified across models with a single click and automatically removed.
