Resilient supply chains - EU application not approved

In the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, there were discussions all over the news how to make food, industrial manufacturing or medical supply chains more resilient to failures by suppliers from China, Italy or other regions severely affected by Covid.

However, an application for EU funding, which the Chair of Information Systems and 8 partners from different European countries had submitted on this topic in November 2020, did not receive any funding. The recently received notification indicates that the project application has "no priority" from an EU point of view, which particularly angered some of the industrial partners involved. The application was reviewed in January - presumably before the consequences of the approaching pandemic and thus the relevance of the topic became clear.
