The 17th IFIP WG 8.1 Working Conference on the Practice of Enterprise Modeling (PoEM 2024) took place from December 3 to 5 at Stockholm University.
Some of the contents of PoEM 2024 were:
- three keynotes on “Navigating the seas of Society 5.0” by Dragoljub Nesic, “Data Analytics in Industry 5.0 for Sustainable Business Practices” by Maribel Yasmina Santos and “Accelerating Innovation: AstraZeneca's Digital Transformation Towards Industry 5.0” by Anders Bergman,
- 17 accepted papers in the main part of the conference,
- three workshops held jointly with PoEM: Models4Simulation, Advancing Enterprise Modeling through Digital Transformation, FAIR Data Management, and Blockchain Integration, and International Workshop on the Foundations and Applications of Capabilities in Enterprises, Transformations and E(SG) Initiatives (FACETE).
The Information Systems research group was well represented with a total of 6 presentations. In addition, three students from the Master's program in Information Systems participated in the PoEM, contributing to two accepted papers.
In the main track, Kurt Sandkuhl presented the paper Enterprise Modelling Support for the Transition of Manufacturing Enterprises Towards Circular Economy as well as the paper Grass-Root Enterprise Modelling: How Large Language Models can Help together with Hauke Pruss (student in the Master of Information Systems). Anne Gutschmidt presented on Assessing Model Quality Using Large Language Models.
In the PoEM Forum, Jim Wilken (Master's student in Information Systems) presented the paper A Case Study on itsVALUE with an Exemplary Case. Furthermore, Nikola Ivanovic presented in the Modeling4Simulation Workshop (Towards Modelling the Enterprise Context for Simulating Cyber-Physical Systems and Smart Connected Products) and Benjamin Nast (The Role of Business Capabilities for Future Viability in Enterprise Architecture – A Structured Literature Review) in the FACETE Workshop.
Prof. Kurt Sandkuhl was also part of a panel discussion on Digital Transformation in Industry 5.0.
