The 18th IFIP WG 8.1 Working Conference on the Practice of Enterprise Modeling (PoEM 2025) took place from December 3 to December 5 at the University of Geneva.
Some of the content of PoEM 2025 included:
- three keynotes on the topics of “Design the business. Architect its future. Enterprise models are key” by Christian Lichka, “Integrating Nature as Stakeholder in Enterprise Modeling” by Birgit Penzenstadler, and “Green AI in Enterprise Modeling: Challenges and Roadmap” by Xavier Franch.
- 19 accepted contributions in the main part of the conference, and
- three workshops held in conjunction with PoEM: FACETE — Foundations & Applications of Capabilities in Enterprises, Transformations & ESG Initiatives, Workshop on Advancing Enterprise Modeling through Digital Transformation, FAIR Data Management, and Enterprise Modeling for Context Engineering Workshop.
The Business Informatics research group was well represented with a total of 7 presentations.
Ahmed Dehne (From Fragmented to Holistic: A Methodological Framework for Variability Management in Enterprise Architecture) and Felix Holz (Empirically Evaluating a Domain Specific Modeling Language for Social Services from the Modeler's Perspective) presented their research topics in the Doctoral Consortium.
In the main track, Anne Gutschmidt presented on “On the Influence of Collaboration and Visualization on the Outcome of Goal and Problem Modeling” and Benjamin Nast on “MODTWIN: A Method for Model-driven Engineering of Digital Twins for SMEs".
In the PoEM Forum, Nikola Ivanovic presented the paper “Method Design for Development of Reusable AI Building Blocks” and Ahmed Dehne presented the paper “Toward a Unified Variability Language: Integrating Feature-Model into the ArchiMate Metamodel.” Anne Gutschmidt also presented the paper “Digital Tool Support for Co-Located Participatory Enterprise Modeling” in the Business Case & Tool Forum.
Anne Gutschmidt was also part of the Doctoral Consortium Chairs.
