Workshop on Engineering & Configure to Order at Jönköping University

On March 11th, a workshop on "Engineering & Configure to Order (ECTO)" was held at the University of Jönköping, Sweden. The workshop focused on approaches from the fields of industrial organization, production systems and enterprise modeling that can be used to develop customer-specific products and solutions. Among the four invited presentations was a contribution by Ulf Seigerroth (Jönköping) and Kurt Sandkuhl (Rostock) on "ECTO - Contributions and Research Challenges from Enterprise Modeling". One of the outcomes of the workshop was the planning of a follow-up event to specifically address the role of Internet-of-Things technologies and product/service combinations in the development of customer-specific products and services.
