Intelligent document and text analysis for business applications - Event of the Center for Artificial Intelligence in MV available on Youtube

The everyday work of many companies is characterized by an abundance of texts and documents. Artificial intelligence can take work off and generate valuable knowledge by automatically analyzing and classifying texts.

On March 16, 2021, SMEs and other interested parties were able to learn more about projects from science and practice in the field of AI-supported text and document analysis. The event can now be watched again on Youtube.

Prof. Dr. Gero Szepannek (Stralsund University of Applied Sciences) reported on a project involving the automated assignment of e-mails to the appropriate addressees in the company, as well as on a project for the recognition of emotions in texts. In cooperation with the company GeBEG, scientists from the business informatics department at the University of Rostock are trying to derive processes from the case reports of social workers. The NEISS project, presented by Prof. Dr. Labahn (CITlab, University of Rostock), demonstrates the transferability of AI techniques, especially neural networks, to different application areas. For example, the same theoretical principles are used in the field of nuclear fusion and also for text analysis. Dr. Holger Meyer (Database and Information Systems, University of Rostock) deals with extracting information from texts and storing it in graph databases. The latter allow special analyses that can eventually provide new, valuable information through information linkages. Finally, the company Planet AI, which offers internationally sought-after products, among others, in the field of AI-based text recognition and analysis presented itself.

The event also featured Philipp Koldrack (Commerzbank), Prof. Dr. Kurt Sandkuhl (Business Informatics, University of Rostock) and Welf Wustlich (Planet AI) discussing possible applications of AI-based text analysis for companies.

You can find the recording of the event on Youtube.
