Carolin Gellner, born in Berlin in 1990, holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Informatics from HTW Berlin University of Applied Sciences and a Master's degree in Computer Science and Digital Media from Berliner Hochschule für Technik University of Applied Sciences. Before pursuing her studies, she completed an apprenticeship as an office administrator. During her studies, she gained a wide range of practical experience as a student assistant at companies and universities in Berlin and Rostock, including in the areas of software development, e-learning and digital health research. 

After completing her degrees, she worked as a research assistant at the Berliner Hochschule für Technik (BHT), FernUniversität in Hagen (FeU), and Hamburger Fern-Hochschule (HFH). She also briefly worked as an IT specialist at University Medical Centre Rostock. At the BHT, she conducted research in the BMBF-funded project ‘ePA-Coach,’ where she developed a media didactic concept for an e-learning platform that trains older adults in using the German electronic health record. At FeU, her research focused on physicians' acceptance of digital therapeutics and the design of virtual patient simulations, and was also intensively involved in distance education. At HFH, she managed modules in the Business Informatics and Data Science programs, including proofreading study materials and developing examinations and online learning resources.

In addition to her professional qualifications, Carolin has a strong interest in psychology and health, and she has completed a course in Mental Health First Aid. Since October 2024, she has been a research assistant, focusing on IT-supported, personalized promotion of health, well-being, and productivity in the ‘New Work’ environment. She also supports the teaching of the ‘Basics of Business Information Systems’ module.
