Dierk Jugel studied business informatics at Esslingen University and received the Bachelor of Engineering in 2010. He then joined Reutlingen University to deepen the topic of business informatics and to complete the Master of Science in 2012. In his thesis, he dealt with an ontology-based KPI dashboard. In addition to the concept, a prototype was also part of the work. The prototype measures values that can be automatically persisted and processed to calculate key performance indicators. Deviations from setpoints can be detected automatically based on an ontology. Afterwards notifications can be sent to solve the issues. Since April 2012, Dierk Jugel has been working as a research assistant at Reutlingen University. There he is active in teaching and in projects. He is researching a method for supporting decision making in enterprise architecture management. Since April 2014, Dierk Jugel has been a Ph.D. student at the University of Rostock. His supervisor was Prof. Dr. Kurt Sandkuhl. His second supervisor at Reutlingen University was Prof. Dr. Alfred Zimmermann.
