Thomas Rehbohm

Curriculum Vitae

Thomas Rehbohm completed an apprenticeship as a communications electronics technician at Deutsche Telekom. Later he studied electrical engineering with a specialisation in information technology at Bremen University of Applied Sciences. With his diploma thesis "Development of a vibration sensor using the laser triangulation principle", he completed his studies in 1998 with the degree of Dipl.-Ing. (FH). Thomas Rehbohm then worked for Siemens AG in Hamburg (Information and Communication Networks) and Munich (Information and Communication Mobile) as an engineer. In 2002, he moved to the state administration of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen (Senator for Finance and Senator for the Interior) and has been Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) there since 2012. While working there, he completed a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Forensic Computing and Cybercrime Investigation (2010) at University College Dublin (UCD).

Since the end of 2018, he has been an external PhD student in the Faculty of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering. His research work is supervised at the Chair of Information Systems (Prof. Sandkuhl), as well as at the Chair of Information and Communication Services (Prof. Cap) in Rostock. In addition, Thomas Rehbohm is supervised by Prof. Kemmerich at the University of Bremen. His research focuses on information and cyber security in the context of state administration, municipalities and companies providing services of general interest.
