Since 2020, the Department of Computer Science at the University of Rostock has been coordinating the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern’s State Application Centre for Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Science ("AI in MV"), which is funded by the Ministry of Economics, Infrastructure, Tourism and Labour of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The current funding period was limited to 28.02.2023, but has now been extended to the end of 2023. An extension beyond this is also planned and is currently being prepared.
In addition to five other chairs in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Rostock, the Research Group of Business Information Systems is also involved in "AI in MV". The spokespersons for the application centre are Prof. Thomas Kirste and Prof. Kurt Sandkuhl. Dr Anne Gutschmidt and Dr Hannes Grunert are responsible for coordination.
