The second stage of the Industrial Project COFIN was successfully completed in the end 2017. The project, which is conducted on behalf of the industry association bitkom , aims to develop a reference architecture that holistically captures the realization of regulatory compliance in organizational structures of financial institutes. For this purpose, COFIN applies methods of enterprise architecture management. In the second project stage a thorough “Reference Compliance Organization” was developed. It contains detailed models that capture procedure models, information structures and application landscapes that are necessary for financial institutes to prevent money laundering and other criminal acts. Further, the model supports institutes in appropriate customer due diligence regarding these perspectives.
In the next phase first insights of the reference architecture’s application to certain institutes are advanced. Further, new regulatory requirements will be integrated.
