BIR 2022 proceedings published

In September 2022, the 21st International Conference on Perspectives in Business Informatics Research, BIR 2022, took place at Rostock University. Two proceedings volumes were published as a result of BIR 2022:

Main conference: Springer LNBIP 462

The proceedings of the main conference were published with Springer in the series Lecture Notes on Business Information Processing (volume 462).  The 14 papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 41 submissions. They were organized in topical sections as follows: Information system development; modeling methods and assistance; applications and technologies; and digital business.

The central theme of BIR 2022 was “Business Informatics for Sustainable Innovation”. Achieving sustainability requires a multi-perspective approach taking organizational, economic, and technical aspects into account. In a world of cloud computing, social networks and big data, additional challenges for business informatics and the design of information systems architectures are introduced. To deal with these challenges, a close cooperation of researchers from different disciplines such as information systems, business informatics, and computer science is required.

Workshops and Doctoral Consortium: CEUR 3223

BIR 2022 included 2 workshops and a Doctoral Consortium. The proceedings were published as volume 3223 in CEUR Workshop proceedings series. More specifically:

  • 13th Workshop on Information Logistics and Digital Transformation (ILOG 2022)
  • 7th Workshop on Managed Complexity (ManComp 2022)
  • The Doctoral Consortium of BIR 2022

Each workshop as well as the Doctoral Consortium had own organizers and an international program committee. After the peer-review process, the BIR 2022 workshop program committees have selected 14 scientific papers for the presentation and inclusion to this volume. In addition, four papers were selected by the BIR2022 Doctoral Consortium organizers. All contributions address significant and emerging topics of the business informatics field.
