Oliver Schnell, business informatics student at the University of Rostock, will defend his master's thesis on the topic of "Challenges and Impact of Digitalization on Enterprise Architectures – The Example of ERP-System Migration" on September 21, 2021 at 10:00 am.
The thesis was supervised by Katharina Goltz and reviewed by Prof. Kurt Sandkuhl and Prof. Michael Fellmann from the University of Rostock.

Abstracts:
Nowadays, companies are confronted with several challenges due to the growing potential of digital structures on the market and in people’s general life situation. Be it the development of new digital sales markets or the adaptation of the enterprise architecture to the new circumstances. Many companies are faced with the decision of how to align their enterprise structure to the future in order to remain competitive in the long term. In this, digitization play’s an important role. With the help of enterprise architecture management, it is possible to control the enterprise architecture and further develop it with regard to digitization in such a way that it optimally supports the goals and strategies of a company. A practical example in the form of a enterprise architecture of a small company is therefore used in this work to examine how digitization affects enterprise architectures and where serious changes are to be expected.
