Business Informatics of Rostock University at Spring Symposium of AAAI

The Spring Symposium AAAI-Make of the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI) is dedicated to the connection of semantic technologies with machine learning. The chair of business informatics of Rostock University was represented this year with the paper “Towards More Robust Fashion Recognition by Combining Deep-Learning-Based Detection with Semantic Reasoning”. This publication was created together with the Fraunhofer Institute for Graphic Data Processing (IGD) and processes the research results from the joint project “Semantic Assistance in Object Recognition in Moving Images (Link: https://www.wirtschaftsinformatik.uni-rostock.de/forschung/projekte/land-m-v/semantische-assistenz-bei-der-objekterkennung-in-bewegtbildern/).

In the article we show how the need for training for neural networks can be reduced using ontologies in order to achieve cost advantages, among other things.
