Curriculum Vitae

Since June 2015 Dr. Michael Fellmann holds a Junior Professorship in Business Informatics with a focus on "Business Information Systems" at the Faculty of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at the University of Rostock.

Mr. Fellmann was previously a postdoctoral and project manager at the Department of Information Management and Business Informatics of the Institute for Information Management and Business Management of the University of Osnabrück. There he received his PhD in 2012 on "Semantic Process Engineering: Conception and Implementation of a Tool for Semantic Process Modeling". Previously, Mr. Fellmann was employed as a research assistant at the University of Osnabrück (2009-2012) and at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) (2004-2009). He completed his studies in Information Science, Computer Science and Business Informatics in 2008 at the University of Saarland.

The research interests of Michael Fellmann are Business Process Management, Mobile and Wearable Systems and Service Science. He has published his findings in more than 120 scientific publications, including journals such as BISE, Decision Support Systems and conferences such as ICIS, ECIS, CAiSE, HICSS, BIS and WI. In addition, he leads the EMISA working group "Semantic Technologies in Business Process Management" and is the organizer of workshops in this context. Mr. Fellmann won several prizes, among them the Best Presentation Award of the conference "MoBIS 2010" in Dresden, a Best Paper nomination of the conference "Wirtschaftsinformatik 2009" in Vienna and an award for his achievements during his phase of doctoral studies from Osnabrück University in 2012.
