Development of a Reference Architecture for the Utility Industry (ECLORA)

The liberalisation of European's utility industry had significant consequences for small and medium-sized public utilities. In order to ensure the public utilities' competitiveness, the objective of the joint project ECLORA is to develop a domain-specific Reference Enterprise Architecture. Therefore, the reference architecture uses enterprise architecture modeling method to capture business, information, application, technology layers and their interrelations of domain best practices. In this context, the ECLORA project focuses on power supply companies, distribution system operators as well as water supply companies. Furthermore, a procedure model is defined, how the developed reference solution can be applied to different organisations in this domain. This includes the development of a necessary tool support for this endeavour.
